Another Outstanding Home: Blossom House Rated Outstanding in All Areas

Wigan, UK - 21st January 2026 - Panacea Children Services is proud to announce that Blossom House has been rated Outstanding in all areas following its recent inspection.

Inspectors recognised the exceptional impact of the home across:
 

• Overall experiences and progress of children and young people – Outstanding
    

• How well children and young people are helped and protected – Outstanding
    

• The effectiveness of leaders and managers – Outstanding
    

The report highlights that “children are happy living at the home and have developed a strong sense of permanence.” Children benefit from a “skilled and consistent staff team whose practice is underpinned by research, reflective learning and clinical oversight,” resulting in “sustained and measurable improvements over time.”

Education is a clear strength of the home, with excellent attendance and children thriving, including one young person who has returned to full-time college after five years out of education.

Leadership was described as inspirational, with inspectors noting:

“An inspirational manager leads this home. He is an ambitious leader who knows his staff and the children extremely well.”

Joanne Hiley, co-founder and a Director at Panacea Children Services, said:

“This Outstanding judgement reflects the exceptional leadership of Liz and Gav and the unwavering dedication of the entire Blossom House team. They have created a home built on trauma-informed practice, high aspirations and genuine care. The progress our children are making, emotionally, socially and educationally, is truly transformational. I could not be prouder.”

The inspection also recognised the home’s therapeutic, strengths-based approach, robust safeguarding practice and strong partnership working with families and professionals. One parent described their child’s experience as “extremely positive.”

Blossom House continues to demonstrate Panacea’s commitment to delivering outstanding, child-centred care that enables children to flourish and achieve lasting progress.
